Taking Down The Telephone Pole

Since early in the twentieth century, there has been a telephone pole in the middle of Fishtown. This summer, Fishtown Preservation buried the cables. Today marked the conclusion of the project, with removal of the telephone pole itself. Workers severed the cables and cut the top sections off, then felled the pole at its base.
